Our Approach
College readiness and college completion require more than just academic support and information.
We provide information, but we also learn by experience. We believe anyone and everyone can be an extraordinary student.
We offer a comprehensive college readiness program that focuses on fostering trust between families and volunteers, supporting students, and empowering parents. Our goal is to help youth develop self-awareness, purpose, and resilience.

Our Services
Consistent participation in CREO programs and services is crucial for students’ and families’ success. Below is a breakdown of our program components for the upcoming school year.
Weekly Academic Coaching for Students - Virtual 1 hr/Week
We encourage students to strengthen their growth mindset and sharpen their academic skills regularly with their coach’s support. Coaches help train their minds by identifying areas for growth and developing action plans, ensuring students have a strong educational foundation.
Social-Emotional Workshops for Students - Hybrid 2 hrs - 1 Saturday/Month
We provide a community of support to help students clarify their goals and develop good habits. We explore aspects of our identity and personality to find and maintain the motivation to overcome challenges. Our volunteer mentors/guides provide guidance and support by walking alongside students.
Caminando Juntos (Family Workshops) - In Person 2 hrs - 1 Sunday/Month
We empower our parents by providing them with information and a supportive community through monthly workshops. Along with other parents, we’ll go through the process of accessing higher education and breaking down how to assist their children with identifying and selecting a college, a major, and a career. Understanding the educational system can be complicated, and raising healthy and resilient adolescents has never been more challenging, but we are here to help.
College, University, and Business Campus Visits - In Person, Trip length varies, but are usually on weekends and holidays.
We provide opportunities for students and families to explore local colleges, universities, and even local employers. We meet with students, professors, and professionals to learn about their experiences and gain a deeper understanding of how each place is unique.
Summer Programs and Camps -In-person, Optional
We provide information about local and national programs for high school students that are hosted on college and university campuses. Programs vary in length and cost, but we also provide information to help students find resources and scholarships.
It’s not all work. We do other things to have fun too!
Each year, we have a couple of big celebrations and enjoy some fun experiences, such as mini-golf, community service, kayaking, BBQs, dancing, and eating great food.
