where does CREO need help?

Great question! As a launch, CREO DuPage is mostly volunteer-based, and there are many opportunities to get involved.

We are looking for committed and passionate volunteers for different areas:

Tutors : to help students on specific subjects on Saturday mornings. We ask tutors to commit a semester or volunteer as “substitute” tutors and fill in (with advance notice) for semester tutors.

Mentors: to share their experiences while being a sounding board to our high school students as they navigate their classes and work through the college-admittance process. Mentors will connect with their student mentees throughout the school year on a monthly basis.

Advisors: to help track students’ academic progress, set and maintain goals, and offer alternative methods of approaching challenges. Advisors will meet with the student and their parent on a monthly or bi-monthly basis depending on grade level. Most meetings will take place during the week in the evening to accommodate to parents’ schedules.

Facilitators: to effectively deliver student/parent workshop materials in an engaging and inclusive manner on topics such as completing college applications, understanding financial aid, attending summer camps, etc.

Other Volunteers - If you would like to volunteer in a different capacity, we are all ears! We can use additional help building relationships with DuPage school districts or community organizations, recruiting volunteers, marketing, establishing our technological needs, developing content, holding information sessions, being a program advocate in your circle of friends/family, or keeping up with social media, to name a few!
